Here at HEAT we pride ourselves on development, encouragement and teamwork.
Hartlepool HEAT Basketball Club was formed in January 2006 and by September 2008 we had achieved Sport England – England Basketball Clubmark and England Basketball 3-Star Accreditation, we are currently the only basketball club in Teesside with both Clubmark and England Basketball 3-Star Accreditation. In 2009 the club won The Hartlepool Sports Councils ‘Outstanding Club Of the Year Award’ and one of our coaches won ‘Volunteer Coach Of The Year’.
In our short but successful history we have won The Teesside League Division 1, Teesside League Division 1 cup, Durham League Division 1 Cup, Durham League Division 3 League and Durham League Division 3 League Cup not to mention numerous junior tournaments with both Boys and Girls.
Hartlepool HEAT Basketball Club can cater for people of all ages; ethnicity, gender and ability from beginners through to elite level and always offers a warm and welcoming environment to all our members. The Club who represent Hartlepool within the National League’s, Durham League’s and The Teesside League is based at Manor College Of Technology and plays the majority of our home games there. After a successful debut season the Club have re-entered the U18 Women in to the National League for a second year. New to this season is our Under 13 Boy’s programme who will compete against teams such as Newcastle Eagles, Leeds Tigers and York Vikings to name but a few. Another NEW team this season is the Senior Men’s 3rd Team. A team made up of juniors who have what it takes to compete at a senior level. Although this won’t be an easy ride they are ready and with some guidance from some seasoned veterans this team will go on to great things Please see our teams section for more information and updates all our teams progress.
Hartlepool HEAT is not only about the players. We also have a very large network of Coaches, Table officials and Referee’s as well as volunteers who without them the club would not exist. We hold accredited courses annually and 95% of our officials have come through our own courses and then gave something back to the club. If you would like to get involved with Hartlepool HEAT as either a coach, a table official, a referee or even volunteer a few hours to help with anything then please contact us as were always looking for people to welcome in to our community.
